Update: The Ovation Adamus Bass Auction

This update from late January 2004 followed the earlier announcement that a bass once owned by John Entwistle would be auctioned for the foundation.

The instrument

The photograph showed an Ovation Adamus acoustic bass. The newsletter said it still carried the same strings that were fitted the last time Entwistle played it. All proceeds from the sale were to go to the foundation.

Other ways to help

For readers who did not want to bid, the note suggested other ways to support John’s legacy, including forwarding the email to friends so that they would learn about the foundation. It also thanked members who had already given, some more than once, and reported that the first letter to the Entwistle family, outlining the generosity of supporters, was on its way to England.

The background to the auction is in the earlier newsletter.
