Archived pages of the John Entwistle Foundation named a range of people in leadership, advisory and volunteer roles. This page gives a general picture of that structure. The lists were published years ago, were never independently confirmed for this site, and may have changed. Their inclusion is not an endorsement or a statement that any person is currently involved.
Leadership
Steve Luongo is named in the archive as founder and executive director. He is described elsewhere as a drummer and producer who worked with John Entwistle for about fifteen years. A small board of directors and a consultant for the Entwistle estate were also listed.
An unusually varied advisory board
The advisory list mixed people from several fields:
- Musicians. Several performers who appeared at the foundation’s concerts were named, including AC/DC’s Brian Johnson and Cliff Williams, Mark Farner and Joe Lynn Turner.
- Sport and entertainment. A former professional American football quarterback who ran his own foundation, and an actress known for television drama, were listed.
- Business. The archived material mentioned executives from entertainment, marketing, finance and consulting firms.
Volunteers, coordinators and sponsors
A longer roll of event coordinators and volunteers was shown, along with local radio stations and car dealerships that supported concerts. A photographer was credited for imagery.
Why this matters
Charities depend on networks of volunteers and partners, and a diverse board can open doors to venues, sponsors and performers. In this case, the board’s connections to the music industry helped fill the Classic Rock Cares line-ups.
