Classic Rock Cares Tour: Fan Photo Gallery Overview

The Classic Rock Cares tour was a concert series organised to raise money for the John Entwistle Foundation, and the archived site included a gallery where photographs from the shows were gathered. The gallery contained a very large number of pictures, arranged by venue. This page describes it without reproducing the images, many of which show members of the public.

What the gallery was for

After each show, photographs were posted so that concertgoers could find themselves and the performers. The closing message of the page thanked everyone who came out and said the organisers hoped to see them again on the next tour, signed off in the name of both the tour and the foundation.

Venues mentioned

The gallery was divided into sections, each headed by a date and a venue. The archived snapshot named two:

  • An evening in late June at the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall in Fort Myers, Florida.
  • An early July show at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas.

Each section offered a “back to top” link so that visitors could move quickly through the long page.

The tour and its purpose

The tour featured a changing line-up of classic rock singers backed by one band, with proceeds going to the foundation’s work providing free music education and instruments to children. For details of the format, read the tour press summary or the events page.

Using archived photo pages

Fan galleries like this one are a good snapshot of concert culture, but images of identifiable people should be treated with care. For that reason this restored site does not republish the photographs, and it does not identify attendees.
